LANE-FOLLOWING SUPPORT DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lane-following support device for supporting a driver to accurately follow and travel a lane without temporary stoppage while bringing no discomfort to the driver.

SOLUTION: The lane-following support device 1 comprises a lane detection means 2 for detecting lane positions LR and LL; a lateral distance detection means 32 for detecting a distance R of an own vehicle from the lane positions LR and LL; a control means 3 for transmitting a signal to an actuation part A to set a traveling target point GP in a position separated from the lane positions LR and LL and travel the traveling target point; a steering intervention detection means 31 for detecting intervention of steering action by the driver; and a measurement means 35 for measuring the elapsed time. The control means 3 updates the separation quantity Rgp of the traveling target point GP to the lane positions according to fluctuation of the distance R in a total period Ttotal from the intervention of steering action by the driver to the lapse of a regulated time Tlap after end of the steering intervention, and fixes it to the updated separation quantity after the lapse of the regulated time Tlap.
