PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of determining a varnish impregnation state capable of performing the non-destructive inspection of the varnish impregnation state and capable of enhancing the inspection precision of the varnish impregnation state. SOLUTION: In the method of determining the varnish impregnation state, insulating paper 31 and a coil 4 are arranged in the slot 21 of a core 2 for a motor and the quality determination of the varnish impregnation state of a core assembly 1 wherein the coil 4 and the slot 21 are impregnated with varnish 5 is performed by non-destructive inspection. In the determination method, AC voltage E is applied across the core 2 for the motor and the coil 4 with respect to the core assembly 1 to calculate tanδbeing the dielectric loss tangent of the core assembly 1.
