PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device capable of maintaining the stable steering-retaining state at a small steering angle while performing steering returning control. SOLUTION: The electric power steering device in which an assist motor M is driven/controlled according to an assist target current Io based on an assist base current value Ib to assist human power is provided with a steering returning control means S for adding a steering returning correction current value Is to the assist base current value Ib at a small threshold value Tp or less that can be determined that steering torque is in the approximately hand release state based on a steering angleθ, a vehicle speed v and steering torque T; and a reaction force current addition means A for operating a reaction force current value Ia giving returning reaction force in a steering angle neutral direction at a small steering angle based on the vehicle speed v and the steering angleθand adding the reaction force current value Ia to the assist base current value Ib.
