PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrooptical device for preventing a shade of a second optical panel from reflecting on a first panel in simple configuration, and to provide electronic equipment provided with the electrooptical device. SOLUTION: The electrooptical device comprises: the first optical panel 10 comprising a pair of substrates 11, 12 sandwiching an electrooptical substance 14; the second optical panel 20 having smaller plane size than the first optical panel 10 comprising a pair of substrates 21, 22 sandwiching an electrooptical substance 24 and arranged so as to be planarly overlapped on the first optical panel 10; a light source 31 for emitting light; a lighting system 30 having a light guide member 32 incident on light emitted from the light sources 31 respectively of the first optical panel 10 and the second optical panel 20 by being arranged between the first optical panel 10 and the second optical panel 20; and a light absorption member 40 provided other than a display region of the second optical panel between the first optical panel 10 and the second optical panel 20.
