PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for cutting a tension member 2 in a buried anchor 1 for easily removing the tension member 2 in the buried anchor 1 in a short time. SOLUTION: This device for cutting the tension member 2 in the buried anchor, cuts the tension member composed of a ferromagnetic substance in the buried anchor 1 in a predetermined position. The device for cutting the tension member 2 in the buried anchor is formed by arranging heating coils 8 and 8' wound and arranged on the outer periphery of the tension member 2 of the predetermined cutting position and a high frequency current supply means for supplying a high frequency current of a frequency of 5 to 100 kHz and voltage of 200 to 900 V to the coils 8 and 8' from an external part. The method for cutting the tension member 2 in the buried anchor 1, heats and cuts the tension member 2 of a part wound with the coils 8 and 8' by high frequency heating by the device.
