PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coated small diametrical tool improved in shape precision and breakage resistance by restraining deflection of the tool more than or the same as one applied with a hard film on a tapered neck end mill, in deep-engraving using a straight neck end mill, and also to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: This coated small diametrical tool having a blade part and a neck part coated with the hard film has characteristics in which a film thickness ratio T2/T1 of film thickness T1 of the hard film of the blade part and film thickness T2 of the hard film of the neck part is 1<T2/T1<20, and the manufacturing method of the coated small diametrical tool has characteristics in which a first coating process works the neck part of the tool in advance of working the blade part and then, and continuously works the blade part, and a second coating process coats the neck part and the blade part with the hard film.
