PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove a small crack on a ruptured surface and burring, etc. of an edge part by smoothing a steel plate end surface cut by a cutting device. SOLUTION: Both ends of the steel plate 1a are cut while rotating circular cutting tools 15a, 15b, 16a, 16b, by holding the circular cutting tools 15a, 15b, 16a, 16b rotatable by pressing them so that their knife edges cut in the cutting end surfaces of the steel plate 1a and by moving the steel plate 1a, in the end surface machining method of the steel plate 1a to cut the cutting end surfaces cut by the cutting device to make specified width by cutting both end parts of the steel plate 1a.
