The bicycle has a rear wheel hub (53), and a pedal shaft spaced from a rear wheel axle (40) and a bottom bracket tube in a radial direction relative to a rotation axis. A brake mechanism (70) is arranged on the hub, the shaft, the axle and the tube. The mechanism is configured to produce a braking force during movement/moving of a forward step, where the braking force counteracts a driving force. The braking force is maintained in a self-regulated manner so as to be smaller than the driving force and to control the movement of front and rear wheels (52, 51).
