It is intended to provide a transdermal absorption preparation of the self-dissolution type which is in a needle-like or thread-like shape and by which a hardly transdermally absorbable drug, etc. can be efficiently administered and so on. A transdermal absorption preparation in a needle-like or thread-like shape is prepared by using a base comprising at least one substance selected from the group consisting of proteins, polysaccharides, polyvinyl alcohol, carboxyvinyl polymers and polysodium acrylate. In this preparation, a target ingredient can be sustainedly released by forming a water-insoluble layer on the surface, holding the target ingredient in a porous substance or using a target ingredient having a long-lasting effect. It is also intended to provide a sheet holding a transdermal absorption preparation which holds the above-described transdermal absorption preparation on at least one face of a support and a transdermal absorption preparation holder whereby the above-described transdermal absorption preparation can be efficiently administered.
