PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner with a filter cleaning device capable of surely cleaning a filter and having good appearance. SOLUTION: The air conditioner has an indoor unit, which includes an indoor unit housing accommodating therein a heat exchanger and a circulating fan for blowing air heat exchanged by the heat exchanger into a house room. A reciprocating filter, and a dust collecting portion for removing and collecting dust on the filter are disposed in an air flow passage connecting between an air intake opening and an air blow-off opening defined in the indoor unit housing. A filter guide is disposed for guiding the movement of the filter from a state where the dust collecting portion is kept into contact with one end portion of the filter to a state where the dust collecting portion is kept into contact with the other end portion of the filter in reciprocating the filter.
