PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a 6000 series aluminum alloy sheet having both hem bendability and bake hardenability. SOLUTION: A 6000 series aluminum alloy ingot is subjected to homogenizing heat treatment, is thereafter temporarily cooled, is further reheated to a temperature range at which hot rolling is started, so as to be hot-rolled, is next subjected to cold rolling into a prescribed sheet thickness, is subsequently subjected to solution treatment and quenching treatment, and is swiftly subjected to preliminary aging treatment so as to be reheated and held to a relatively high temperature after the quenching treatment, thus the 6000 series aluminum alloy sheet for an automobile panel is allowed to have both hem bendability and bake hardenability.
