PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device for preventing a main power source from being turned off while an optical disk exists in the device. SOLUTION: When a remote control turns off a main power source, a main microcomputer 12 emits laser beams from an LD 4, compares the level of a reflection light quantity signal generated by an RF amplifier 10 with a threshold, drives a loading motor 7 to open a tray when the level of the reflection light quantity signal is higher than the threshold, and drives the loading motor 7 to close the tray when an optical disk on the tray is removed and the tray is pushed inward. A sub microcomputer 13 turns off the main power source, and the sub microcomputer 13 turns off the main power source if the level of the reflection light quantity signal is not higher than the threshold.
