<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarizing plate for liquid crystal display which is high in surface hardness, does not occure curls, is excellent in adhesion, is small in the variation in polarization degree, and is free of a view defect due to a light leak, interference fringes or the like. <P>SOLUTION: The polarizing plate for liquid crystal display is obtained by sticking together a liquid-crystal-cell side protective film which is formed of a resin composition by dispersing elastic substance particles of ≤2.0 μm in number average particle size in thermoplastic acrylic resin and has a water vapor permeability of 10 to 200 g m<SP>-2</SP>day<SP>-1</SP>, a polarizer, and another protective film which has a three-layered structure of a thermoplastic acrylic resin layer, a resin composition layer, and a thermoplastic acrylic resin layer and has a water vapor permeability of 10 to 200 g m<SP>-2</SP>day<SP>-1</SP>.
