<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine control device which protects a catalyst from damage, returns output performances of an engine to original performances, and makes power performance recover without increasing cost. <P>SOLUTION: The device is provided with: an operation condition calculation means 26 calculating an operation condition, based on a three-way catalyst 22 purifying exhaust gas and outputs of various sensors; a fuel injection quantity calculation means 27 calculating fuel injection quantity; an injector drive means 28 driving the injector 16; an actual misfire rate calculation means 29 calculating actual misfire rate Rt; a misfire rate calculation means 30 for catalyst damage judgment calculating misfire rate JRn for judgment; a catalyst damage misfire judgment means 31 performing fuel cut when damage misfire condition is judged; a misfire rate storing means 32 storing actual misfire rate Rt at the time of damage misfire condition judgment as misfire rate Rm at the time of damage misfire condition judgment, and a fuel cut recovery means 33 performing fuel cut recovery when misfire rate JRn for judgment gets larger than misfire rate Rm at the time of damage misfire condition judgment. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
