<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new data transmission method and a system for speeding up data transmission between base stations. <P>SOLUTION: Unsent data stored in a base station 11 are transferred through a plurality of routes. The base station 11 holds the unsent data addressed to a mobile station 14 or a gateway 15 so as to transmit a part of the unsent data to the mobile station 14 or the gateway 15 and to transmit other parts of the unsent data to a base station 12 of a handover destination, respectively.
