PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording device capable of writing magnetization information with high density. SOLUTION: A magnetic material whose magnetically anisotropic energy is changed by application of an electric field is used as a magnetic recording layer 103 of a magnetic recording medium 101 and an electrode 105 for applying the electric field to a recording region of the magnetic recording layer is provided on a head. Magnetic recording is performed by applying an AC electric field from the electrode 105 while applying a DC magnetic field 106 to the recording region of the magnetic recording layer.
