PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a totally enclosed motor for driving a vehicle which enables saving power for maintenance, realizes reduction in size and weight or an increase in capacity by improving cooling performance, and can reduce energy loss in operation and generated noises. SOLUTION: A stator iron core 2 is attached to the internal circumferential side of a stator frame 1, a rotor iron core 12 is arranged in its internal circumferential side, and a rotor shaft 13 is coupled to its center portion. Brackets 4, 6, 8, 10 are attached to both ends of the stator frame, and a rotor shaft is freely rotatably supported with a bearing 5. A first cooling fan 15 is attached to a driving side end of the rotor iron core via a first iron core retainer 7, and a second cooling fan 16 is attached to an anti-driving side end of the rotor iron core via a second iron core retainer 11. Micro-gaps 22, 23 are formed between the external circumferential portion of the cooling fans and the brackets. Fins 15a, 16a are provided on wall surfaces outside the machine of the first and second cooling fans. Circular fins 15b, 16b are provided on the wall surface inside the machine, and intake ports 6a, 10a and discharge ports 4a, 8a of the ambient air are provided on the brackets.
