PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of a conventional surface acoustic wave filter that an in-band characteristic is deteriorated in a cascade connection configuration. SOLUTION: A surface acoustic wave filter 100 disclosed herein is configured with: a first vertical mode filter 107 configured by arranging IDT electrodes 102, 103, 104 and reflector electrodes 105, 106 formed on a piezoelectric substrate 101 closely to each other along a propagation direction of a surface acoustic wave; and a second vertical mode filter 113 configured by arranging IDT electrodes 108, 109, 110 and reflector electrodes 111, 112 closely to each other along the propagation direction of the surface acoustic wave.
