PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device capable of applying comfortable steering feeling like the case of manual steering. SOLUTION: A steering angle of a steering member 7 is detected, and vehicle speed is detected. Torque applied to a steering shaft 8 for steering wheels A, A is estimated by input from the steering member 7, and by using the estimated torque, steering auxiliary torque by an electric motor 1 is controlled. Based on the detected steering angle and vehicle speed, torque applied by the steering member 7 is estimated, and the steering auxiliary torque is calculated by subtracting the torque applied by the steering member 7 from the estimated torque applied to the steering shaft 8.
