PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inhibit increase of capacity of an electric heater and a kerosene burner in a rear stage heater and reduce the size of a device by inhibiting temperature fall between a front stage heater and the rear stage heater. SOLUTION: The heating treatment apparatus for the contaminant conducts heating treatment of the contaminant such as soil contaminated by chlorinated organic compounds such as dioxin. A horizontal composite rotation heating body 13 is formed by inserting a rear end part of a first rotation heating cylinder 11 to a front end part of a second rotation heating cylinder 12 of which diameter is larger than the first rotation heating cylinder 11. A middle hood 16 for releasing gas enclosing an outer circumference of a front end opening part of the second rotation heating cylinder 12 is provided in the outside of overlapping part of the first and second rotation heating cylinders 11, 12. A screw feeder 17 for feeding contaminated soil is provided at the front end part of the first rotation heating cylinder 11 and a primary air supply part 19 for generating a parallel flow is provided for the screw feeder 17. An outlet hood 20 is provided in the rear end part of the second rotation heating cylinder 12, and a secondary air supply part 21 for generating a counterflow is provided at the outlet hood 12.
