PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a near-infrared absorbing material playing important roles in optoelectronics-related sectors including near-infrared absorbing filters, with light resistance and near-infrared absorption characteristics compatible with each other. SOLUTION: The near-infrared absorbing material comprises (1) at least two ultraviolet light absorbers and (2) at least one near-infrared light absorber or infrared light absorber; wherein (1) the at least two ultraviolet light absorbers are at least two compounds 470 nm or shorter in spectroscopic absorption maximum wavelength within the range of 270 to 1,600 nm in the form of each of their solutions, and (2) the at least one near-infrared light absorber or infrared light absorber is at least one compound 730 nm or longer in the above spectroscopic absorption maximum wavelength in the form of its solution.
