An internal gear type oil pump is provided to reduce a clearance between an inner gear and a pump cover for reducing oil leakage toward an oil passage, which is formed in the pump cover, thereby improving pump discharge performance. An internal gear type oil pump includes an inner gear(40) and an outer gear(41) received between a pump cover(43) and a gear receiving part(42b) of a pump housing(42). The inner gear has a surface at which an outer diameter of the inner gear is a larger diameter, and the outer gear has a surface at which an inner diameter of the outer gear is a larger diameter. The surfaces are arranged to face a surface of the pump cover. An oil passage(8c) is formed in a part of the pump cover, including an opening(8b) on the cover surface facing the inner gear. |
