PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inspect the performance of regenerative brakes in an automobile assembly factory through the use of existing inspection facilities. SOLUTION: After driving wheels of a vehicle are mounted over a rotating roller, an accelerator of the vehicle is turned on to accelerate the vehicle to a first prescribed vehicle speed, and then the accelerator is turned off to generate a regenerative braking force in the vehicle. On the basis of the time required to reduce a vehicle speed to a second prescribed vehicle speed, it is judged whether the regenerative performance of the vehicle satisfies prescribed performance or not.
