PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To classify content according to metadata created from receipts, pamphlets, tickets and the like. SOLUTION: A feature extracting part 54 extracts features of a predetermined image among a plurality of images associated with each other. Based on the features extracted, an image determining part 55 determines whether or not the predetermined image is an image of the surface of a certificate, a deed, a ticket or an album with a character string written thereon. If the predetermined image is determined to be an image of the surface of a certificate, a deed, a ticket or an album with a character string written whereon, a metadata adding part 56 adds first metadata that is the character string data of the character string to another of the plurality of images. This invention is applicable to an information processing apparatus capable of recording or reproducing images and content, such as an HDD recorder or a personal computer.
