PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an e-mail control method and a server device capable of performing reception control to user terminals which transmit spam e-mails, while avoiding performing reception control to user terminals which ordinary users use. SOLUTION: The server device 1 monitors an IP address of a user terminal 3 of a transmission source for a first holding period, and if the number of times of smtp connection to unclear destinations exceeds a predetermined number during the first holding period, the IP address is monitored for a second holding period. If another smtp connection to an unclear destination is made further during the second holding period, the server device 1 performs reception control to the user terminal 3 of the transmission source.
