NOVEL CELL CULTURE METHOD AND METHODS OF PRODUCING AND COLLECTING CELL MASSES USING THE SAME

It is intended o develop a novel cell culture method and provide a method, whereby cell masses being uniform in size and properties can be conveniently produced on a large scale, and a method of collecting the same. It is found out that the above-described problems can be solved by forming a structure having a cavity, wherein at least one bottom end is opened, providing a projection for a liquid culture medium in the lower opening end thereof, and culturing cells in this projection. More specifically speaking, a cell culture method characterized by comprising forming a structure having a cavity, wherein at least one bottom end is opened, providing a projection for a liquid culture medium in the lower opening end thereof, and culturing cells in this projection. A method of forming cell masses characterized by comprising forming a cell mass by the cell culture method as described above.
