A light source, and a method for controlling and exchanging the same are provided to minimize a running cost by correctly exchanging a deteriorated or erred laser diode. A method for controlling a light source having a plurality of laser diodes(LD) comprises the steps of: previously generating corrected data which regularizes a correlation of a control value for driving a control board(47) per a set composed of the plurality of laser diodes(LD) and the control board of the plurality of laser diodes, and a measuring value of a real light emitting output measuring value of the plurality of laser diodes(LD) when the control board(47) is driven based on the control value, wherein the plurality of laser diodes(LD) control a light emitting output of the plurality of laser diodes; and controlling a total light emitting output of an optical source(1) based on the corrected data of each set.
