<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a knee protection airbag apparatus which can easily adapted to change in the installation position to a body side and the installation mode of an airbag cover to allow smooth opening of a door of the airbag cover. <P>SOLUTION: In the knee protection airbag apparatus S1, a metal sheet case 22 to store the airbag 67 and an inflator 59 comprises a case body 23 and a support member 27, which are separately made and capable of being combined and integrated with each other. The support member 27 extends from a peripheral wall 24 of the case body 23 to the periphery to able to support the front side of the airbag 67 in the expansion. The airbag cover 47 comprises a door 56 opened by pushing with the airbag in the expansion covering an opening 23a of the peripheral wall 24, and four walls to surround the periphery of the peripheral wall 24. The right and left walls 52, 53 are disposed between portions 32c, 32d at right and left roots of the adhesion portion adhered to the case body 23 of the support member 27, and the outer peripheral surface of the peripheral wall 24. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
