<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a settlement management method and system for efficiently performing settlement relating to transaction while suppressing the disclosure of account information. <P>SOLUTION: A settlement server 20 which has received transaction data from a shopping mall server 15 performs registration processing. Then, a self-bank host system 30 executes confirmation processing on the basis of a cash card inserted into a cash automatic teller machine 35. In the case of the self-bank cash card, the self-bank host system 30 confirms whether or not a payment claim flag has been recorded in account data. On the other hand, in the case of the other bank cash card, the presence/no presence of payment claim is confirmed by a settlement server 20. When any payment claim is present, the settlement server 20 generates confirmation data, and presents the data to the cash automatic teller machine 35.
