<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an orthodontic appliance which applies torque to teeth subjected to orthodontic treatment. <P>SOLUTION: A current generating part 30 of the appliance passes a direct current to a coil 20 and generates a magnetic field in the coil 20. A permanent magnet 10 is attached to a tooth 3a of a person Z subjected to the orthodontic treatment. Since an opposite force is applied to the south pole and the north pole of the permanent magnet 10, the torque to induce rotations is applied to the tooth 3a.
