PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus and an image processing method for selectively using an optimum correction processing means to image correction processing in order to attain a high-speed correction processing of image data. SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus includes: a first storage device for storing a three-dimensional lookup table wherein three output primary color data corresponding to three input primary color data configuring input image data are written on each grating point as correction parameters in response to the image correction processing setting; and a second storage device for storing correction processing programs for successive correction processing applied to the input image data, and selectively executes a first image data correction processing to obtain output image data by accessing the first storage device to apply arithmetic processing using the three-dimensional lookup table or a second image data correction processing to obtain the output image data by reading any correction processing program and executing the correction processing program from the second storage device depending on a kind of the correction processing included in the image correction processing.
