PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coloring accelerator for fruit accelerating coloring of fruits without using any chemical substance such as a plant growth regulating agent nor losing taste/palate feeling so as to harvest the fruit having a coloring degree inherent in the fruit: and to provide an application method for the accelerator. SOLUTION: The coloring accelerator for fruit contains methionine as an essential component. The coloring accelerator for fruit is applied to the leaf surface of a plant during a specific period before harvest of the fruit so that the methionine accelerates the coloration of the fruit to harvest the fruit having the coloring degree inherent in the fruit.
