A mobile electronic device and a method for calibrating a terrestrial magnetism sensor are provided to suppress deterioration in display accuracy of a direction resulted from deterioration in detecting accuracy of terrestrial magnetism in connection with non-contact communication by electromagnetic coupling. In the case that a non-contact communicating unit (111) carries out non-contact communication, processing of the calibration for the terrestrial magnetism sensor (110) and the calculation of the direction are carried out after the communication is terminated, so that the deterioration in display accuracy of the direction in connection with the non-contact communication is suppressed.
