A sealing material for use in liquid-crystal dropping processes which has an excellent pot-life, has the excellent property of not contaminating liquid crystals, and enables the production of a liquid-crystal display of high picture quality; a vertical-conduction material; and a liquid-crystal display element. The sealing material for use in liquid-crystal dropping processes comprises a (meth)acrylic resin and/or a resin having a cyclic ether group and a heat-curing agent having a structure represented by the following general formula (1).
