Procedure for the testing of potential pharmaceutically active substances for the suitability as antiviral comprises forming an assay, which: acts against the treatment-evasive potential of a mutable virus by means of inclusion of all the currently available types in the form of a representative selection of a sub-type of the same virus type, and hence compensates the risk of mutation; clears off the distinctiveness between the virus-targeted and a host cell-based testing of the drug; and considers the virus including the host cell as a single entity.
