An information processing apparatus, an information processing method, a receiving medium and a program are provided to extend a reencoding section when the continuance of sharing amount is not maintained in a reencoding process executed at a first section. An information processing apparatus comprises the followings: a decoding unit which decodes a first part including a reencoded section as a part including a first splicing point set for a first encoding stream to generate a first baseband signal and decodes a second part including a reencoded section as a part including a second splicing point set for a second encoding stream to generate a second baseband signal; an encoding unit which encodes an editing signal obtained as a result that the first baseband signal and the second baseband signal, generated by the decoding unit, are spliced in the first splicing point and the second splicing point; and a control unit which adds a predetermined section included in a second encoding stream as a section just after the reencoding section to the reencoding section as the reencoding extension of the reencoding section in case that continuance is not maintained between the sharing amount of a close point of the reencoding stream generated by the encoding unit and the sharing amount of a part included in the second encoding stream as a part corresponding to the close point.
