PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric double layer capacitor of large electrostatic capacitance.

SOLUTION: Relating to the carbon material for an electric double layer capacitor, the peak is 6 (ml nm-1g-1) or higher in the range of 0.6-1nm of pore radius, in a pore volume distribution curve measured by an MP method using nitrogen adsorption.
