<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal transfer sheet, in which dye is prevented from transferring to a heat-resisting slip layer, no scumming develops at printing, the transfer sensitivity and transfer efficiency of the dye at its thermal transfer are high and a fully satisfactory highly dense printed material can be obtained. <P>SOLUTION: In the thermal transfer sheet having a dye layer on one side of a base material sheet the other side of which is provided with the heat-resisting slip layer, the dye layer at least includes the dye, a binder resin and a thermally transferable additive under the condition that the dye is soluble in the thermally transferable additive at temperature higher than the melting point of the thermally transferable additive and the thermally transferable additive is a fatty acid ester having at least one hydroxyl group in a molecule. When the dye is thermally transferred to an image receiving sheet by use of the thermal transfer sheet, the transfer of the dye to the heat resisting slip layer and the scumming at the printing can be suppressed from developing under the condition that the high transfer sensitivity and the transfer efficiency of the dye and the high transfer density in the printed material are realized, resulting in highly excellent in printability. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
