<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical communication module which can ensure data communication. <P>SOLUTION: An infrared data communication module A1 is provided with a substrate 1, a light emitting means 3 mounted to the substrate 1, a light receiving means 4 mounted to the substrate 1, a driving IC 5 for driving and controlling the light emitting means 3 and the light receiving means 4, and a resin package 6 for covering the light emitting means 3, the light receiving means 4 and an integrated circuit device 5.
