<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that forms a more precise bicolor image. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus determines if each pixel of input image data belongs to a black binary image area, a color binary image area, or an intermediate image area (S60). Based on the result of the determination and a specified extracted color, the apparatus determines the threshold values of its chroma and hue. Based on these threshold values, the apparatus then determines whether each pixel has the extracted color or not (S80, S82, and S83). Subsequently, the apparatus calculates output image data used for drawing, in different colors, the pixels determined as the extracted colors and the pixels determined as non-extracted colors, and performs an image forming process (S110). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
