<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an infrared observation system capable of obtaining a satisfactory observation image even in a blood vessel at the deep part of a biological tissue. <P>SOLUTION: An IR lamp 19b is pulse-lighted, and then an observation object section 25 inside of a patient is pulse-irradiated with infrared rays. Synchronizing with the pulse irradiation, the section is imaged in time series by an imaging device 33b for IR, and A/D converted data is stored in a RAM in a sampling processing circuit 40. Moreover, two or more frames of data is FFT-processed by a CPU 41, and noise is suppressed to calculate data of temperature or a temperature difference.
