<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a motion vector detection method, motion vector detection apparatus and motion vector detection program in which accuracy in motion vector detection can be improved by selecting an appropriate initial bias vector. <P>SOLUTION: The disclosed method is characterized in including a step of storing motion vector, detected for each block, for at least one field in a storage means; an initial bias vector selection step of selecting, from among the motion vectors for each block stored in the storage means, a motion vector closest to the motion vector of a block to be detected as an initial bias vector; a first gradient method operation step of determining the motion vector of the block to be detected by applying gradient method operation multiple times with the initial bias vector as a starting point; and a second gradient method operation step of further applying gradient method operation to a result of the first gradient method operation step and storing an arithmetic result in the storage means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
