<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small planing boat capable of preventing the entry of water into a space between a deck and a hatch cover and a lock mechanism from being deteriorated and at the same time capable of having a superior appearance. <P>SOLUTION: A hatch cover 20 for use in opening or closing an opening 17 arranged at a hull 11 and a deck 11a are provided with a lock mechanism 40. Then, the hatch cover 20 is constituted by a hatch cover body 25 and a plate-like lever member 27 pivotally connected to the central part of a rear segment of the hatch cover body 25. In addition, the lock mechanism 40 is constituted by an engagement member 42 arranged at the hatch cover body 25 and an engaged part 43 arranged at the deck 11a. When the lever member 27 is turned in relation to the hatch cover body 25, the locked state of the lock mechanism 40 is released.
