<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new human CC-chemokine receptor, to provide an antibody against the receptor or an antigenic bonded fragment thereof and to provide a pharmaceutical composition comprising the same. <P>SOLUTION: A mammalian (e.g. human) CCR2 [CC-chemokine receptor (2)] is isolated and the antibody or the functional fragment thereof which binds to the CCR2 or a portion of the receptor and blocks the binding of a ligand to the receptor is isolated. Furthermore, a method for inhibiting an interaction of a cell bearing the mammalian CCR2 with a ligand thereof is provided.
