PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aluminum alloy sheet for a battery case cover which, when subjected to laser welding, has penetration depth larger than that of the conventional pure aluminum material by the same heat input, particularly for a square lithium ion battery case cover. SOLUTION: The aluminum alloy sheet comprises 1.0 to 2.5% Fe and the balance Al with inevitable impurities, wherein the content of Si is limited to≤0.3%, Mg to≤0.2%, and Cu to≤0.2%.
