PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a recorder of a constitution whereby maintenance control for maintaining a recording image quality such as head cleaning can be automatically executed by a proper timing by correctly specifying at all times whether or not a fixed time or more while recording to a material to be recorded is not executed has passed, without a battery loaded in a recorded body and without actual time information acquired from the outside, and to reduce the risk of wasteful consumption of ink and the like due to the maintenance control unnecessary. SOLUTION: The ink cartridge 71 has the battery 712 and an RTC 713 incorporated therein. Similarly, the ink cartridge 72, the ink cartridge 73 and the ink cartridge 74 have the battery 722 and an RTC 723, the battery 732 and an RTC 733, and the battery 742 and an RTC 743 incorporated therein, respectively.
