PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a torque detector with an improved measurement error caused by deviations in the diameter direction of the rotation axis of a slit section and inclinations thereof, and the pitch error of a slit. SOLUTION: The slit section 11a is provided on a rotation slit section 11 in an input side; an inside slit section 21a and an outside slit section 21b are provided two-track like by arranging the inside section 21a at the rotation slit section 21 in an output side and the outside section 21b at position outside of the section 21a; light beams transmitted through both of the slit section 11a and the inside slit section 21a are light-received over the entire periphery of an inside light-receiving section 41; and light beams transmitted through both of the slit section 11a and the outside slit section 21b are detected over the entire periphery of an outside light-receiving section 42.
