PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power saving fuel injection valve which is of an internally opening type to achieve excellent responsiveness through the combination of an electromagnetic actuator and a magnetostrictive actuator equipped with a solid magnetostrictive element. SOLUTION: In a fuel injection valve equipped with an electromagnetic actuator A1 for actuating a valve element 10 in an internally opening direction and a magnetostrictive actuator A2 for stretching a movable part assembly 43 reaching a movable core 24 in the electromagnetic actuator A1 from the valve element 10 by electric energization, the magnetostrictive actuator A2 consists of a solid magnetostrictive element 15 provided between the valve element 10 and a yoke member 22 coupled integrally with the movable core 24 in the electromagnetic actuator A1 through an intermediate member 23 of a nonmagnetic material, a preload spring 13 provided between the valve element 10 and the yoke member 22 so as to apply axial compressive preload of the valve element 10 to the magnetostrictive element 15, and a second coil 42 mounted in a valve housing H to stretch the magnetostrictive element 15 by the electric energization.
