<p>A computer-implemented method for remedying a computer problem for an affected computer using a USB-based integrated user assist device (IUAD). The IUAD includes an operating system and a health check application to enable the affected computer to boot up and to perform a plurality of health checks and provide a report. Facilities are also included to execute a VOIP application or a remote assist application to assist the user to remedy the computer problem.</p>
