A paper box for packing articles is provided to decrease damage of a handle part by dispersing vertical stress concentrated on the both upper parts of a hand hole, over the whole handle part. A paper box for packing articles is composed of front and rear plates(11,12), side wall plates(13,14), upper lid units(2,3), and a bottom lid unit. A handle part(4) is formed by folding up outer parts(22,32) of the upper lid units about each middle line(21,31) of the upper lid units formed on the upper side of the front and rear plates and then combining the both outer parts. Folding portions(23,33) are formed at the outer sides of the outer parts forming the handle part. The handle part is overlapped in four folds by folding the folding portions and then hooked by a hanging plate(5). The folding portion is longer than the height of the outer part. Lid joining units(24,34) are formed at the end portion where the folding portion is extended over the height of the outer part, and joined to the upper lid unit.
